At first, a face mask containing carbon is applied to reinforce the effect of the laser. This is followed by three laser passes. During the first pass, the skin is heated and the mask is applied deeper. During the second pass, the mask is removed and thus also a part of the upper layer of the skin (exfoliation). How many sessions are needed?
An improvement in the appearance of the skin is already visible after just one treatment. 3 to 6 treatments spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart are necessary to obtain a maximum effect.
Are there any contraindications?
This treatment is contraindicated to patients who are currently taking anticoagulants, have a compromised immune system, have impaired healing (e.g. keloid scarring tendency), are currently pregnant, have a suspicious lesion in the treatment area or who have had any use of Isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past year.
